Easier Bookmarks

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026

Easier Bookmarks is a Chrome extension that provides a local side-panel interface for viewing, searching, creating, editing, moving, reordering, and deleting Chrome bookmarks and bookmark folders.

Information the extension handles

Easier Bookmarks reads and handles bookmark titles, saved URLs, and folder structure through the Chrome Bookmarks API. It also stores the selected interface language and expanded-folder identifiers in chrome.storage.local. Chrome Web Store may classify saved bookmark URLs as Web history; Easier Bookmarks reads bookmark URLs through the Bookmarks API and does not read general browsing history.

How information is used

This information is used only inside the extension to display, search, and manage bookmarks and to remember interface preferences. Easier Bookmarks does not use analytics, advertising, user accounts, or external servers. It does not transmit bookmark data or interface preferences to the developer or any third party.

Chrome itself may sync bookmarks according to the user's Chrome settings. That browser feature is controlled by Chrome and is not operated by Easier Bookmarks.

Sharing and sale

Easier Bookmarks does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data to third parties.

Retention and deletion

Bookmarks remain in Chrome's bookmark storage until the user changes or deletes them. Interface preferences remain in Chrome's local extension storage until they are changed, cleared, or the extension is removed.

Security

All executable code is included in the installed extension. Easier Bookmarks does not download or execute remote code and does not send user data over the network.

Limited Use

Easier Bookmarks' use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy
